Grzechotki

Grzechotki ( Rehfeld German ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, and is located - close to the border with Russia - in Braniewski powiat ( county brown mountain). The small town is part of the rural community Braniewo ( Brown Mountain ).

Geographical location

Grzechotki located one kilometer north-west of the expressway S 22 - before 22 extends transversely as national road DK through the north-western Poland to Kostrzyn (Küstrin ) on the German border - the city of Elbląg ( Elbing ) to the Russian border. In this section, it represents one of the few realized portions of the formerly planned autobahn Berlin- Konigsberg

Grzechotki in the valley of the towing to Russia river Omaza (Russian: Игнатька / Ignatewka ) is the last place in Poland before the road crosses the border into Russia ( EU border ) and as highway P 516 in Kaliningrad Oblast Prussian to the former metropolis will continue. The border crossing point " Grzechotki-Мамоново/Mamonowo ( Heiligenbeil ) II" was opened on 24 November 2010.

History

Grzechotki, now in the almost deserted border area 73 inhabitants village, offered 1910 - then known as " Rehfeld " - 337 people a home. The inhabitants went back to 1933 and amounted to 278 in 1939 295

By 1945, Rehfeld was in the district Heiligenbeil (now Russian: Мамоново / Mamonowo ) in the district of the Prussian province of East Prussia, Königsberg. The village was school location and belonged to the communities Birkenau (now Polish: Wilki ), green forest (now Russian: Липовка / Lipówka ), small forest ( Borek is no longer present), Thoms village ( no longer exists today ) and Walter village ( Pęciszewo ) for Office District Walter village.

Today Grzechotki is a district of Gmina Braniewo in powiat Braniewski in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship ( to 1998 Elblag voivodship ).

Church

Neither as yet Rehfeld as Grzechotki the place had its own church. Kirchdorf was and is rather the neighboring village Walter ( Pęciszewo ). Until 1945, near the village of Birkenau ( Wilkins ) and the now defunct places Heidenhof ( Wrzosek ), small forest ( Borek ), New Bahnau ( Nowe Banonwo ) Preuschhof ( Prusowo ) and Rosenhof ( Różanka ) eingepfarrt. By 1945 the parish Walter village belonged to the church district Heiligenbeil the Ecclesiastical Province of East Prussia of the Protestant Church of the Old Prussian Union.

Traffic

Grzechotki today lies in one of the villages and people almost empty border region. Through the expansion of S 22 and the opening of the border with Russia in 2010, the situation has improved traffic engineering. By 1945, Rehfeld was a railway station on the railroad track Heiligenbeil - Zinten ( - Prussian Eylau ), the course - with the exception of Grzechotki - today would be alone on Russian territory. The route has not been activated again after the war.
