Grzegorz Karnas

Grzegorz Karna ( * 1972 in Wodzisław Slaski ) is a Polish jazz singer.

Biography

Karna grew up in the Polish Upper Silesia; in high school Rybnik he had a year training in classical guitar playing. He graduated at the Jazz Institute of the Academy of Music in Katowice. Since then he has worked in the Polish jazz scene, including with Tomasz Szukalski; In 1998 he was awarded the first prize at the International Jazz Vocalists ' Meeting in Zamość. The following year, his debut album was released on Not Two Records Reinkarnasja; involved in appearances joined in clubs and festivals in Poland and Slovakia. Published in 2004, Karna his album Sny - Dreams of a Ninth Floor, and also occurred in Germany. Followed in 2006 Ballads for the End of the World ( Ballady na Koniec Świata ) with cellist Adam Oleś. In the same year he was honored with the first prize of the Young Jazz Singers Competition in Brussels.
