Grzegorz Piechna

Grzegorz Piechna ( born September 18, 1976 in Opoczno, Poland ) is a Polish footballer. He currently plays for the Greek third division ae Doxa Kranoulas.

Club career

Piechna played in his youth at Modrzewianka Modrzew and Pilicą Tomaszów before he came into the first team of amateur club Woy Bukowiec Opoczyński 1997. Here he immediately became the top scorer (56 goals) of the Polish district league. Then he moved frequently, the clubs and increased steadily from the county league in the fourth division, the third division, and finally he came to the second division in 2004 to Korona Kielce, his first professional station. After he had already been top scorer in the county league (56 goals), the fourth ( once with 35 gates and once with 33 gates ) and the third league (23 goals), he could be in the 2004/2005 season, with 18 goals and the Title of the scorer of the second Polish league save. After Korona Kielce had risen in the Ekstraklasa ( the highest Polish league ), Grzegorz Piechna could secure sensationally with 21 goals, the scorer of the first league crown. Despite a range of English club Birmingham City Piechna chose the financially attractive offer and moved to Russia in 2006 to Torpedo Moscow. However, it did not prevail here and scored in 15 league games only two goals. The end of 2007 he returned to Poland and signed a contract with Widzew Łódź. However, he no longer found here back to his old form. After only seven league games without scoring, he was sold to the then second division club Polonia Warszawa. In Poland he came 10 times and was used verbahnt in the reserve team. So Piechna 2008 decided to switch to Spartak Varna in Bulgaria. Here he was, due to various problem not used and changed in 2009 to the Polish third division Kolejarz Stróże. For the 2009/2010 season, he returned to his former club Ceramics Opoczno. Here he scored in the 4th league in 16 games 16 goals. In January 2010 he moved to Greece to Ae Doxa Kranoulas in the third league.

National

Grzegorz Piechna completed on 16 November 2005 against Estonia his only international match for Poland and scored in the 87th minute for the 3-1 final score.

Grzegorz Piechna is nicknamed " Kiełbasa " which means to polish sausage. This is due to the fact that he is a trained butcher.
