Grzegorz Szamotulski

Grzegorz Szamotulski ( born May 13, 1976 in Gdansk, Poland ) is a Polish footballer.

Club career

The goalkeeper started his career with Lechia Gdańsk. After starting at the Danzig Grzegorz Szamotulski played in several other Polish clubs ( Hutnik Warsaw, Polonia Warsaw in 1994, 1995 Legia Warsaw) before he finally moved to the first Greek League to PAOK Salonika in 1999.

After a season in Greece, he returned to Legia Warsaw and signed in 2001 Amica Wronki. About Wronki Szamotulski succeeded in returning to the Polish national football team. In 2004 he moved to Austria to VfB Admira Wacker Mödling. After a successful season in the Bundesliga he was taken from SK Sturm Graz under contract. With the end of season 2006/2007 he left the SK Sturm and moved to Dundee United to Scotland. Here he was a season-long goalkeeper before he moved to the second English League Preston North End. At Preston, he played through injury, however, no single game, but was transferred the same to Israel for FC Ashdod. About Hibernian and Jagiellonia Białystok he landed in 2010 at DAC Dunajská Streda. In Slovakia, he played only five league games. His contract ended in June 2010 when he was out of contract. On April 14, 2011, he signed a contract until 30 June 2011 with the Polish first division club Korona Kielce. Then Szamotulski changed after a few months without a contract in October for the second division Warta Poznan.

National

In the Polish national Grzegorz Szamotulski debuted on 27 August 1996 in a friendly against Cyprus (2-2 ). Between 1996 and 2003, he completed a total of 13 matches.
