Description

General Guang Yu's weapon was called " Green Dragon scything Moon - Saber " (Chinese Qing Long Yan Yue Dao青龙 偃月刀). You should have had a weight of about 45 kg. This weapon has today in China religious significance. In many monasteries copies of this weapon can be found. It is a long stick, on which a heavy, wide blade is top mounted with hook-like tip and an additional hook on the blade back. On the additional hook a red cord with a tassel is often linked, which is to distract the opponent. On the lower side of the stick a metal tip is often set. This also serves as a weapon and as a counterweight.

Its management is described as relatively difficult and requires a high level of exercise. It is one of the advanced weapons in the Chinese martial arts. Single units weigh from 12 kg to some 40 kg ( historical weapons of cast iron), but today's versions are much easier to practice.
