Guarapuava ( officially Municipio de Guarapuava ) is a city in the southern center of the Brazilian state of Paraná on the plateau of Guarapuava, the Terceiro planalto paranaense. According to the census of 2010, the city has 167 328 inhabitants. The inhabitants of the IBGE estimate of July 1, 2013 was 175 779 inhabitants, called Guarapovanos. Guarapuava is from Paranaguá 361 km from the state capital Curitiba 258 km. Guarapuava is the seat of the diocese Guarapuava.

Guarapuava is divided into four districts ( distritos ) Entre Rios, Guairacá, maned and Palmerinha and this in 19 bairros.
