Guard Dog (film)

Guard Dog is an American animated short film by Bill Plympton from the year 2004.

Action

One dog goes with his owner for a walk in the park. The cheerful running is interrupted when the dog sees a girl with a jump rope. He introduces himself as his master jumping with the rope while his head is cut off, and barks at the girl. A squirrel is barking because the dog in him a potential murderer of his master sees and a bird's nest is a possible, deadly projectile, so that the bird is put to flight. A grasshopper drills into the imagination of the dog in Herrchens head, a mole digs a pit in which he placed a bull to kill the owner dressed as Ronald McDonald. A butterfly is a dangerous man chopper and a flower turns out to be potentially deadly creeper.

The dog barks at everything and everyone rushes soon, eagerly back and forth and strangled master at the end so with the dog leash. Eventually, the dog drags his lifeless holder on a leash home.

Production

Guard Dog is based on hand-drawn characters and backgrounds that scanned Plympton and animated on the computer. All drawings were completed after two weeks.

The film includes the songs Underwater Terror by Hank Bones, Prom Queen by Maureen McElheron and Hank Bones and home of Maureen McElheron.

Guard Dog learned 2006 Short Animated Film Guide Dog its first sequel. The dog was also seen in Plympton movies Hot Dog (2008) and Horn Dog ( 2009). Plympton himself valued the dog as his "new Mickey Mouse " a.

Awards

On the Toronto World of Comedy International Film Festival Guard Dog was awarded in 2005 for Best Animated Short.

Guard Dog was nominated in 2005 for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film ", but could not prevail against Ryan himself.
