The song was written by the Hamburg producer Christopher Evans Ironside and Dorco German under the pseudonym Kurt encoder bloggers and published under the pseudonym further Masquerade. The lyrics are about feelings for a loved one or lost love.

Dorco German was considered at the time in the media because of scandal not too, hence the pseudonym was chosen originally for a duet. However German took the singing with Guardian Angel on alone. The song was a huge success. It reached number 2 in Germany, 1st place in Austria and number 2 in Switzerland. But also in the Netherlands, Sweden and New Zealand, the song reached the top ten.
