Guentër Seidel

Guenter H. Seidel ( born September 23, 1960 in Fischen im Allgäu ) is an American dressage riders German origin and a three-time Olympic bronze medalist.

Career

Seidel was born in Germany and began with the equestrian sport. Even before he started in riding competitions himself, he worked as a riding instructor and trainer of dressage horses. After a visit to California in 1985 he settled permanently down there and became an American citizen.

With three Olympic appearances for the United States Seidel won bronze in the dressage each team: 1996 Count George, 2000 Foltaire and 2004 Aragon. He also took all three games to the individual dressage competitions, his best finish here was an eighth place in 1996. He also won team silver at the Pan American Games in 1995 and at the World Equestrian Games 2002.
