Gueudecourt

Gueudecourt ( Picard: Gudecourt ) is a commune with 101 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region of northern France. The municipality belongs to the canton Combles and is part of the Communauté de communes du canton de Combles.

Geography

The community is located about seven kilometers south of Bapaume on the roads department D74 and D574 and west of the Autoroute A1 and the parallel TGV line in a projection of the Somme in the département of Pas -de -Calais.

History

During the First World War, the church was 1916 scene of heavy fighting in the train of the Battle of the Somme in September. She received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
