Guglielmo da Marsiglia

Guglielmo de Marcillat (* 1467/1470 in La Chatre in the department of Indre (France), † 1529 in Arezzo), also Guillaume de Pierre de Marcillat, was an Italian glass painter of French origin and first teacher of Giorgio Vasari, who gave him in his Lives of sets detailed monument.

Numerous glass windows are received from him in Cortona, Arezzo and Florence. But he also tried his hand in the wall painting and four frescoed ceiling vault in the cathedral of Arezzo. In the Gemäldegalerie of Berlin there is the oil painting " The dispute between church teachers of the Immaculate Conception ", which is considered an oil paintings obtained from two, the second is located in Chiusi della Verna.
