Guido Forti

Guido Forti (* July 10, 1940 in Alessandria, † January 11, 2013 ) was an Italian race car driver and motorsports manager. He was the owner of the eponymous racing team Forti Corse, who took among other things in Formula 1.

Motorsport

Guido Forti founded in 1977 its own racing team, who took first in the Italian Formula Ford Championship. In 1980, the team continued for several years in the South American Formula 3 Championship, before it moved to the Italian series. In 1987, Franco Forini for Forti Italian Formula 3 champion. In the same year, Fortis started involvement in Formula 3000, who was the team until 1994. Forti in these years was an integral part of areas marked by strong fluctuation Formula 3000 series. However, a league title could not win the team, although it often had powerful driver Nicola Larini as Gianni Morbidelli or under contract.

In the course of 1992, Guido Forti thought the first time after about the rise of his team in Formula 1. For the sake of advertising effectiveness he had first considered the establishment of a women's team to the Italian Giovanna Amati racer; the plans could not be realized, however.

1994, involved the Brazilian- Italian businessman Carlo Ganzia to Guido Fortis team. With the financial support of the Brazilian racing driver Ganzias and Pedro Diniz Forti Corse succeeded at the beginning of the 1995 season, the rise in the Formula 1 here Forti could not build on the successes to date. The team played only 27 races and scored no World Championship points. His first season ended the team from the Third to last in the constructors' standings. Guido Forti died on January 11, 2013 at the age of 72 years.
