Guilherme Afonso (2011)

Guilherme Afonso (* November 15, 1985 in Luanda ) is an Angolan- Swiss football player, he plays on the position of a striker.

Career

Afonso began his career at Urania Geneva. For the 1995/96 season he joined Étoile Carouge FC. Here Afonso remained until the 2003/04 season, when he first joined the French club ASOA Valence abroad. After a season in France, he joined the Dutch first division side FC Twente Enschede. Here he was able to prevail in his second season and also scored his first two goals for Enschede. In January 2007 he went to BV Veendam. In Veendam he came up with 44 missions and shot six goals until he dissolved his contract in September 2008. At club search he graduated from, inter alia, a trial at FC Vaduz, there fell through, however.

Since early 2009, Afonso plays for FC Sion, with whom he won the Swiss Cup. In the final, he also achieved a 3:2 winning goal. In the fall of 2009, he was loaned to the Grasshoppers, in the spring of 2012 to FC Lugano.
