Guillaume Fichet

Guillaume Fichet ( born September 16, 1433 Le Petit- Bornand -les- Glière, Savoy, † 1480 in Rome) was a French theologian and humanist.

Guillaume Fichet was in 1461 prior of the Sorbonne in Paris. In 1467 he became rector, 1470 Professor of Rhetoric and University Librarian. Together with John Heynlin he erected in 1470 the first printing press in France. Fichet was ambassador of Louis XI. , Later chamberlain by Pope Sixtus IV
