Guillaume Thierry

Guillaume Thierry (born 15 September 1986) is a Mauritian athlete who competes in the decathlon.

He is one of the last few years to the African elite in this discipline, in 2005 African Junior Champion and then collected at the three most important major events of the continent several silver and bronze medals. On September 12, 2011 Thierry presented as part of the Pan-African games at the Estádio do Zimpeto the Mozambican capital Maputo with 7481 points, a new national record.

In 2006 he traveled to the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and could be there to fight for one eighth. About half a year later, he reached the sixth place in the in Bambous discharged on his home island Athletics Championships Africa. The 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi went not as successful as the previous ones for him; at the end he finished in twelfth place overall.

In his youth, Thierry went to as a specialist in the pole vault. With skipped 4.30 meters he reached the 13th place at the Youth Athletics 2003 World Championships in Sherbrooke. Three years later, ranged in Bambous 4.20 meters for fifth place at the African Championships in 2006.
