Guillermo Fayed

Guillermo Fayed ( born November 28, 1985 in Chamonix ) is a French alpine skier. It starts in the World Cup in the disciplines of downhill, super -G and super combined.

Biography

Fayed learned to ski at the age of three years. From 2006 he was a member of the B-team of the French Ski Federation. In December 2000, he contested his first FIS races, starting in December 2004, he was also in the European Cup at the start. Best result in this series is a fourth rank in the downhill in Wengen on January 7, 2010.

In the World Cup Fayed took the first time on 10 December 2005 in Val d'Isere downhill and arrived the next day in the super combination with rank 29 his first World Cup points. Since the 2007/ 08 season he starts regularly in the World Cup. This winter was, as in the following season, a 20th place in the downhill in Val Gardena his best finish. He achieved two top 20 results in the winter 2009/10. At the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010, he was 22 in the Super G and 26th in downhill. After the season he was promoted to the French A-team.

His first top- 10 ranking and at the same time his best ever World Cup result obtained Fayed 18 December 2010 with sixth place in the downhill in Val Gardena. Almost three months later was followed by another sixth place in Kvitfjell. At the World Championship 2011, he was 23 in the downhill.
