Guillermo Flores Avendaño

Guillermo Flores Avendaño (* 1894, † 1982) was the October 27, 1957 to March 2, 1958 Guatemalan President.

Life

On 20 October 1957 it was chosen and on October 24, 1957 a military coup, there was not elected as intended.

The military were a triumvirate of

  • Colonel Óscar Mendoza Azurdia,
  • Colonel Roberto Lorenzana and
  • Colonel Gonzalo Yurrita Nova represents.

This triumvirate handed the presidency on 27 October 1957, Colonel Guillermo Flores Avendaño, as this was second deputy of Carlos Castillo Armas and they had the first deputy Luis Arturo González López assassinated on 25 October 1957.

Avendaño was again choose now and José Miguel Ramón Idígoras Fuentes was elected.

Idígoras blamed Avendaño to his Minister of War.
