Guillermo Ochoa at Club América

Guillermo Ochoa Francisco Magaña ( born July 13, 1985 in Guadalajara) is a Mexican football goalkeeper.

Association

At the age of 18 years, Ochoa came on 15 February 2004, a game of the Mexican capital club Club América against CF Monterrey ( 3-2 ) for his first professional use in the Mexican Primera División, after the goalkeeper had been injured. Because of its good services, he quickly became the new number one between the posts of the American fashionistas and soon managed the leap into the national squad.

Since 2004, Ochoa plays for Club América, with whom he won the championship of the 2005 Clausura and the North American Champions Cup. In 2007, he joined with America before the final of the Copa Sudamericana, which was lost only on away goals against the Argentine club Arsenal de Sarandi.

For the 2011/12 season Ochoa moved to AC Ajaccio.

National

Ochoa was nominated for the international match against Guatemala for the first time, but did not play. His international debut, he completed on 14 December 2005 against Hungary, which was won 2-0. He was the third goalkeeper in the squad of Mexico to the World Cup staged in Germany in 2006. His biggest success with the national team was the 5-0 final win over the hosts and arch-rivals Mexico at the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2009 in the USA.

Overall, he guarded the gate of his home country 37 times, most recently in the 2-1 win against North Korea on 17 March 2010.
