Guillermo Ortiz Camargo

Guillermo Ortiz Camargo ( born June 25, 1939 in Mexico City; † 17 December 2009), also known by the nickname or Chatito Chato, was a Mexican football player on the position of the striker.

Biography

Guillermo Ortiz began as a child on the position of full-back, played as a teenager in the middle and later acted as the left striker.

To his old club he joined at the age of 13 years because he was sent by his also playing for Necaxa Father Marcial " El Ranchero " Ortiz in the youth department.

División His debut in the Mexican Primera was Chato Ortiz, 1957 in a game against Atlas.

The 2-1 victory over the Netherlands on April 19, 1961 Ortiz was the first time for the national team. His first international goal was the "golden goal " in a 1-0 win against Colombia on April 1, 1962. Ortiz was appointed in 1962 in the Mexican World Cup squad due to injury did not, however, be used. His only " double " in the dress of the national team, he scored on 28 March at the 1963 8-0 against Jamaica. His last international game, he completed two days later in a goalless encounter with Costa Rica.

After hanging up the football boots on the nail, he discovered his love for American football and was also active in this sport. He also worked as a turner and began studying engineering.

In December 2009, Guillermo Ortiz died of throat cancer.
