Guiscardo Améndola

Guiscardo Amendola ( born May 27, 1906 in Montevideo, Uruguay, † 1972) was a Uruguayan plastic artist and painter.

He studied with his father Pantaleon Amendola, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts ( Accademia delle Belle Arti ) in Naples. In 1946 he began his exhibitions in the Salón Nacional de Bellas Artes. He has won several awards. He created murals in public and private buildings and exhibited his works both at home and abroad from. In August 1961, he participated in the large exhibition De Blanes a nuestros días, which took place at the meeting of the Consejo Interamericano Económico y Social in Punta del Este, in part. His numerous awards include, for example, prices of the Comisión Nacional de Turismo and the Cámara de Senadores and of him in 1965, together with José de Saint Romain at the 2nd Salón Pintura Moderna awarded Premio Adquisición. Amendola was married to Laura de Verdie Amendola.
