Guitar Pro

(* Smartphone Version)

Guitar Pro is a music notation program in which music can be represented both in notation as well as guitar tablature. It is produced by the French software company Arobas Music.

Up to version 4, the program was only available for Microsoft Windows. Guitar Pro 5, published in November 2005 for Windows, was available from July 2006 and for Mac OS. The current sixth version is also available for Linux.

Guitar Pro is popular with guitarists and also with other musicians, since it is suitable both for practice and play along with guitar tablature and for transcribing and composing.

The audio tracks are displayed both as standard scores as well as tablature. For non- stringed instruments, in particular for classical instruments, the program offers the option to hide the tab, and display only the notation.

The program can play guitar typical techniques such as Play palm mute and hammer-on and effects such as Distortion, Phaser and Reverb acoustically by zurückgegreift to MIDI or the internal Real Sound Engine ( RSE). The RSE sounds are included as a library of software since version 5 and retrieved from a software sampler section during playback.

Since version 4, it is possible to convert a file into various formats like MIDI, MusicXML, Wave, ASCII or PDF. Thus, Guitar Pro files can be processed by other programs in notes or audio form on.

The Realistic Sound Engine is a guitar, bass and drum sampler, which allows a transparent sound experience when playing the notes. It is for Guitar Pro 5 is used to playback the files. Included the first version of RSE only a few sound samples, it was fitted in the second, which is included in Guitar Pro 6, with many new samples, effects and amp simulations.

In GuitarPro 6 is no longer simultaneous playback of MIDI and RSE is possible, in contrast to the previous version, but only the separate. To compensate for the lack of MIDI instruments, sound samples were prepared so that the use of a MIDI sound sampler is no longer necessary for this.
