Guldental is a municipality in the Nahe in the district of Bad Kreuznach in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Langenlonsheim.

Geography

The place is located in the Nahe region from the southern foothills of the Hunsrück on the barrel of the guilder Bach.

The neighboring communities are from the north clockwise: Langenlonsheim, Bretz Home, Bad Kreuznach, Hargesheim, Gutenberg, Windesheim and Waldlaubersheim.

Guldental consists of the two districts Heddesheim and Waldhilbersheim and from the living quarters Breitenfelserhof and field mill.

History

Already in 1163 the possession Hetdenesheim ( Heddesheim ) was documented and was already 700 years ago one of the big villages in present-day district of Bad Kreuznach. Under French rule Heddesheim was assigned in 1800 the Mairie Langenlonsheim.

And today's district Waldhilbersheim has a great age: As early as the year 1200 occurs the name of the place in documents. In 1800, the city came to the Mairie (later mayor ) Windesheim and 1939 to the Official Langenlonsheim.

Today's local church Guldental was formed in the wake of the Rhineland-Palatinate administrative and territorial reform on June 7, 1969 the independent communities Heddesheim (Next ) and the district court and width Felser Waldhilbersheim.

The local council in Guldental consists of 20 council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 in a proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms of the municipality Guldental consists of the coat of arms of the original communities Heddesheim and Waldhilbersheim. In the upper half of the split shield a black, floating Andrew's cross on a gold background can be seen. In the lower part there are three silberene wings on red background. The St. Andrew's Cross was originally part of the Heddesheimer, the wing part of the woodland Hilbersheimer coat of arms.

The license to run this coat of arms was granted in 1969 after the merger in 1971 by the district government Koblenz.

Culture and sights

  • Heddesheim Protestant parish church: choir tower Romanesque with Gothic arcades altered sound. Nave of the 15th century, later extended by a three-sided enclosed area to the south. Recovery after fire in 1709, the west side with beveled corners. From this time, the current tower helmet.
  • Parish Church of St. James the Greater 1894 according to plans of the Freiburg cathedral architect Max Meckel built in Neo-Gothic forms. Aisled church with recessed choir and transept- like arranged side chapels, gable front with ornate spire of crowned with weighting houses flank tower. The interior conveys after interior renovation completed in 2003 a very good picture of a neo-Gothic Gesamtkunstwerk with holzgeschnitzen altarpieces, stained glass windows and the restored color version and painting from the time it was built.
  • Catholic parish church of St. Martin: 1774/75 erbauter baroque hall building with roof skylights, extended in 1923 around an axis to the west.

Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

Guldental is located in the Rhine -Nahe - Nahverkehrsverbund. In the municipality of Heddesheim (Nahe) railway station is situated at the cross- Hunsrück railway Langenlonsheim -Hermes wedge, but this option is used only for freight. The nearest train station with passenger Langenlonsheim is on the railway line Pirmasens -Bingen (Near Valley Railway ), approximately 5 km east of Guldental. In Bad Kreuznach, about 8 km south of Guldental, this route crosses the railway line Saarbrücken- Mainz. From Guldental to Bad Kreuznach runs daily at least every two hours bus number 240 of the bus and coach transport Rhein-Nahe.

The nearest motorway junction is Waldlaubersheim on the federal highway 61 Koblenz -Ludwigshafen, about five kilometers north of Guldental.

Viniculture

Guldental is significantly influenced by the Viticulture and bestockter with 377 hectares to Bad Kreuznach largest wine-growing village nearby.
