Gulf of Tomini

The Gulf of tomini ( Indonesian Teluk tomini ) is a bay in the west of Molukkensee, which is nestled between the Minahassa Peninsula and the eastern arm of the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. The narrowest point of golf with only 95 kilometers wide, located between Tanjung Tambalilatu on the south coast of Minahassa Peninsula and the eastern arm of the upstream Bualemo Peninsula. Further west the Gulf widens to about 200 kilometers.

For Gulf of tomini include the western lying tomini Basin with a water depth of just over 1500 meters and the east lying Gorontalo Basin, which is slightly more than 4,000 feet deep. The Togean Islands and the island of Una Una separate the tomini from Gorontalo Basin. In the Gulf of Torini there are different types of coral reefs, which are among those with the greatest biodiversity in Indonesia.
