Gulfstream G200

The Gulfstream G200 is a twin-engine business jet with intercontinental range.

History

It was developed by Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI ) developed as a successor to the Astra SP. The first flight took place on 25 December 1997. Was Debuted then under the name of Galaxy Galaxy Aerospace, based on the Alliance Airport in Fort Worth. The first machine was delivered to the TTI Incorporated in January 2000. Following the acquisition of Galaxy Aerospace by Gulfstream in June 2001, the aircraft was renamed to G200. Since 2005, Gulfstream ( even at that time as designated G250 ) is working on the successor Gulfstream G280, which is to feature new avionics, new engines and aerodynamic improvements. In December 2011, the last G200 was delivered to a customer and stopped production in favor of the G280.

Technology

The G200 has a tail in a cross shape, 18 windows, PW306A engines and (except the first models ) a Rockwell -Collins Pro-Line 4- glass cockpit. Compared with the G100, the machine was equipped with larger wings, Krueger flaps and winglets. Instead of the usual de-icing the wings by engine bleed air, the G200 has inflatable rubber flooring. The cabin has a length of 7.44 m, a width of 2.18 m and a height of 1.91 m. The luggage compartment has a volume of 3.5 m³.
