Gummel-Plot

The Gummel plot is named after Hermann Gummel graphic from the electronics, which applies the electric currents IC and IB of a bipolar transistor to the base-emitter voltage UBE in a semi-log plot.

This representation is very useful for the description of bipolar transistor components, as it is the quality of the base-emitter junction at constant base-collector voltage UBC. In addition, some other parameters can be read from the Gummel plot. These include the gain B, series resistance and leakage current of the transistor.
