Guṇabhadra

Gunabhadra (* 394, † 468 ) Chinese求 那 跋陀罗/求 那 跋陀罗, Pinyin Qiúnàbátuóluó, W.-G. Ch'iu -na -pa - t'o -lo was a monk of the Mahayana Buddhism of Magadha, India. He traveled across the sea to China, accompanied by Gunavarma in the year 435 the two of you were taught as honored guests of Emperor Wen, the doctrine of southern China at that time. In China, he translated one of the key texts of Mahayana Buddhism, the Lankavatara Sutra, from Sanskrit into Chinese. He was more than a translator and preacher.
