Gundomar I

Godomar was burgundy in the early 5th century. He is mentioned in the Lex Burgundionum. He should have been a son of Gibica and brother of Gundahar and Gislher. In the Nibelungenlied, he is probably the historical model for Gernot, but its existence is not assured in contemporary late-antique sources. Uncertainty is accordingly whether he survived his father and then held a position in Burgundy Empire Gundahars.
