Gungarlin River

The Gungarlin River is a river in the Australian state of New South Wales. It rises in the Kosciuszko National Park and flows south into the Snowy River. In summer it is popular as a good trout water and because of cycling and walking trails along its shores.

The Snowy Mountains Hydro - system branches off from the lower reaches of the River Gungarlin on Gungarlin Weir water and passes it to Iceland Bend Pondage. In the Snowy Water Inquiry Outcomes Implementation Deed is mentioned that the military is not as much water is to be diverted to increase the amount of water in the Snowy River again. The river below the weir has lead to periods of no base amount of water.

On Gungarlin River along or near the station there are many mountain huts, eg the Davey's hat, the hat Botherum Plain, the Buhlmans hat that Mrs. Casey's hat and the Kellys hat.
