Gunnar Berntsen

Gunnar Berntsen (born 30 October 1977 in Frankfurt ( Oder) ) is a former German football goalkeeper.

Berntsen played at the start of his football career for the Frankfurter FC Viktoria. In 2000 he joined the Bundesliga team FC Energie Cottbus. The first two seasons, he was not used. His debut in Germany's top flight was Berntsen on matchday 33 of the 2002/03 season. He got coach Eduard Geyer in preference to first-choice goalkeeper Andre Lenz. FC Energie at that time was already relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga fixed. Also on the final day allowed Berntsen play for the Cottbus.

André Lenz left after the season the club and coach Geyer familiar first on the veteran Tomislav Piplica as goalkeeper and later to the newly committed Georg Koch. Berntsen only came on the opening day to a nearly 30 -minute short-term use. After the season Georg Koch left the club and Berntsen was behind Piplica again the number two. After a torn ACL in the preseason he had regained connection. On the third Round of the season 2004/05 Piplica injured and so Berntsen stood before the winter break in the Gate of Cottbus. During the winter break, he withdrew again to a cruciate ligament injury and thus fell to the season end. Although Cottbus extended the contract with Berntsen by one year to another professional use, however, he did not come. 2006 ended Berntsen his football career.

Today Gunnar Berntsen is after completing his studies in industrial engineering research associate at the Institute of Production Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus.
