Gunnar Sønstevold

Gunnar Sonstevold (* November 26, 1912 in Elverum, † 18 October 1991) was a Norwegian composer.

Sonstevold studied in Stockholm at Hilding Rosenberg, Karl Andersen in Oslo and with Hanns Jelinek in Vienna. Since 1966 he was head of the music department of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation.

He composed two ballets, a Sinfonetta, a saxophone concerto, a double concerto for flute and bassoon, chamber music, drama, television and more than thirty film scores.
