Günther VII, Count of Schwarzburg-Blankenburg
Günther VII of Schwarzburg († 1274) was from 1236, Count of Schwarzburg- Blankenburg.
Life
Günther was a son of Count Henry II of Schwarzburg from his marriage to Countess Irmgard von Weimar- Orlamünde ( † ca 1222 ).
To 1228/29 Günther held together with Emperor Frederick II on in Jerusalem. In 1236 he succeeded his father as Count of Schwarzburg- Blankenburg and was, after the death of his brother Henry III. , 1259 Count of Schwarzburg.
In the Thuringian War of Succession Günther was captured 1248/49.
The Earl founded the monastery in 1267 to Saalfeld.
