Gurjaani

Gurjaani (Georgian გურჯაანი, gʊrd͡ʒɑ ː nɪ ) is a city in the Kakheti region of Georgia. Gurjaani is located about 122 kilometers east of the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, and is the administrative center of the municipality of the same name. The city has about 10,000 inhabitants ( 2002).

Near the town are the spa Achtala and the monastic churches of Gurjaani and Watschnadsiani from the 8/9 Century. Both are Allerheiligenkirchen ( Qelazminda ). Archaeological excavations have shown that the urban area was inhabited since the Stone Age.
