Gustav Gerster

The Gustav Gerster GmbH & Co. KG is a family owned company based in Biberach an der Riss, producing curtain fabrics, ready-made curtains, curtain tapes, trimmings, as well as technical textiles.

History

First founded in 1882 as a small Posamentierbetrieb, the company has developed over time for the most Posamentenwerk in Germany.

In the 1950s, Gerster began with the production of curtain tapes. Of today's 40 million meters are manufactured in the year. In the 1980s, the curtains production was recorded. Since then, the range is designed to cover the complete needs of window decoration with woven, printed and embroidered curtain fabrics, ready-made curtains, curtain tapes and trimmings and tie-backs.

In 2004 it was decided that the business Gerster TechTex, with a focus on technical narrow fabrics build. Active application is here the composites market with reinforcement textiles and auxiliaries.

450 employees at its headquarters in Germany and in the subsidiary plant in Poland (since 1995) produced in the in-house production departments, including wide and narrow weaving, embroidery and tassel manufacturing, quality articles.

In 2009, Gerster finished the BTH Heimtex / BBE Kundenbarometer decoration and curtain into two categories ( future and speed of delivery ) the first place and ended up with another ten categories, including product quality, value for money, conditions, goodwill and complaint processing, distribution policy and progressiveness, in second place.

Charity

225 years ago, the first time a shooting chunk of the Heiß'schen Foundation was issued to the Biberacher school children. This beautiful tradition to bring joy to the school children, was continued by the company Gerster for several generations to the present day.

Meaning, Origin and transfer to the school will be enhanced by the services being since last year greeting card in the form of a breviary and make the schools a great introduction to the Biberacher Marksmen. In addition to protecting chunk of the company Gerster also supports the Biberacher Marksmen with donations and products of the company to the costume pageant and theater equipment.
