Gustav Richter (artist)

Gustav (Karl Ludwig) Richter ( born August 3, 1823 in Berlin, † April 3, 1884 ) was a German painter.

Life

Richter studied at the Berlin Academy of Arts and was a pupil of Eduard Holbein. In 1844 he went to Paris for two years where he became a pupil of Léon Cogniet to the EBA. In 1847 he went to Rome in 1849 and returned back to Berlin.
