Gustavo Yacamán

Gustavo Aristizabal Yacaman ( born February 25, 1991 Santiago de Cali ) is a Colombian race car driver. He rode from 2009 to 2012 in the Indy Lights.

Career

Yacaman began his motorsport career in 2002 in karting, where he was active until 2005. In 2006 he moved to Formula racing and was in Europe Fourth of Master Junior Formula. He also made ​​his debut in the Spanish Formula 3 Championship, where he finished in 16th place overall. 2007 Yacaman denied the full season in the Spanish Formula 3 He won a race and finished the season in eighth place overall. In 2008 he participated for several teams in the Spanish Formula 3 Championship and decided once again a race for themselves. In the overall standings, he was ninth.

2009 Yacaman left Europe and moved to the North American Indy Lights. Starting for Sam Schmidt Motorsports was a fourth place his best result. At the end of the season, he finished twelfth overall. In 2010, he played his second season in the Indy Lights for the new team Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing. With a third place as best result he finished the season on top of the tenth overall. 2011 moved Yacaman within the Indy Lights team for Moore Racing. He won this year his first Indy Lights race and improved to fourth place in the drivers' standings. In addition, he completed for Andretti Autosport its first test run in the IndyCar Series. 2012 graduated Yacaman another season in the Indy Lights for the team Moore Racing.
