Gutach im Breisgau

Gutach is a municipality in the Elz Valley in the district of Emmendingen, Baden- Württemberg. It lies at the junction of the Breisgau Black Forest, about 20 kilometers north-east of Freiburg im Breisgau.

Geography

Geographical Location

Gutach lies at the confluence of Wilder Gutach and Siegelbach in the Elz, a right tributary of the Rhine. The community extends in the direction Kandel, for Hörnleberg and numerous hamlets by the Siegelauertal to upper tip Bach 280-900 meters.

Neighboring communities

The immediately adjacent municipalities are downhill Waldkirch with his district Siensbach and Kollnau in the southwest and 5 km up the valley towards the town Elzach winds in the Elz Valley, northeast of Gutach. In the southeast of the town Simon forest adjacent to, and in the north followed by free office.

Community structure

The community Gutach is divided into the districts Lead Bach, Gutach and Siegelau. The districts are spatially identical with the former municipalities of the same name. The hamlet Lead Bach are the village lead Bach, the hamlet Kregelbach and tunnels (sometimes also to the hamlet Gutach ) and the residential places Berghaus and mine. For the district of the village include Gutach Gutach, the hamlet Otten bridge and tunnel (partly also to lead the district Bach) and the homestead Riedern. The hamlet Siegelau include the village Siegelau, the hamlet Mußbach and upper tip Bach, the tines Dobel, Gescheid, Obertal and Untertal, the courtyards Eckleberg and tines and the living space Schwarzenberg. In the district of Gutach is the deserted village Glashof to which suggesting a field name.

History

The district lead Bach was first mentioned as Plybach in 1178 in a papal bull of Alexander II as a possession of the monastery of St Margaret to Waldkirch. From a church in lead Bach for the first time in 1350 as a branch of the parish of St. Peter was the speech in Waldkirch.

Siegelau was first mentioned in 1251 as Sigilnowe documented. In 1360 was reported by a church in the village.

The first-time documentary mention Gutachs found in 1309 in a topographical dictionary as Guota. 1315 came Gutach together with lead Bach and Siegelau in the possession of the Schwarzenberger on Kastel mountain. From a chapel in Gutach was first reported in 1699.

In the 16th century, the communities Gutach, lead Bach and Siegelau were vorderösterreichisch. They belonged to Landgraviate Breisgau, until they were in 1805 the Grand Duchy of Baden slammed.

The suffix " im Breisgau " Gutach leads im Breisgau since June 27, 1961. The church today has been re- formed on 1 January 1974 by the Association of Municipalities Gutach, lead Bach and Siegelau.

Policy

Until the local elections in Baden- Württemberg in 1999 was the improper subset choice of location; the districts were also residential areas within the meaning of Baden-Württemberg municipal code.

Twinning

  • Since 1997 there has been an official partnership between Elzach, Gutach, Simon Forest and Waldkirch with the English Worthing in Sussex.

Economy and infrastructure

In addition to medium-sized industrial enterprises and the catering tourism with agriculture is the most important economic factor. In particular, the district Siegelau with its hamlets upper tip Bach, Black Mountain, Eckleberg, Gscheid, Sopra, Untertal, Dobel and Mußbach is very rural - village.

The community is connected by state road 294 ( Bretten - Gundelfingen) at the top center of Freiburg im Breisgau (21 km to the city center ). The Federal Highway 5 (Basel -Karlsruhe ) is stationary transit free to reach 20 km.

The Elz Valley Railway ( Elzach -Freiburg im Breisgau ), on which the Breisgau- S -Bahn train stations Gutach and lead Bach served, and several lines of Südbadenbus bind Gutach to public transport.

Established businesses

  • Goods man is one of the largest manufacturers of yarn. With over 350 employees in Gutach the operation is one of the largest in the Elz Valley.
  • The Elz Valley Distillery Georg Weis is one of the largest manufacturer of spirits in Germany.
  • Hydropower people is one of the world's leading manufacturers of small and medium-sized hydropower plants.

Tourism and Leisure

Gutach is located in the Black Forest Nature Park, the largest nature park in Germany. The districts Siegelau, upper tip and the Bach recognized as a state resort Lead Bach are popular hiking destinations on tours through the nature park.

Gutach is a member of Tourism " Zweitälerland " which strives for the tourist marketing of Municipalities of Elztales and Simonswälder valley. For the Elz Valley Simonswäldertal & Tourismus GmbH & Co. KG was founded on 1 January 2000. Shareholders are Gutach five other municipalities who fund according to their population and number of overnight stays society.

The three-kilometer long forest trail on Hörnleberg in the district lead stream is a mixture of trail and " Ökoralley ", which is intended to provide a fun way of all sense knowledge of the forest ecosystem.

Education

In Gutach there is a primary and secondary school with Werkrealschule, and there is lead in the district Bach also a primary school. For children with learning difficulties, the Elz Valley School in Lead Bach is responsible as a special school.

Culture and sights

Structures

The Church of St. George in lead Bach is worth seeing for interested in art history. The unusual building combines five different styles and eras from the late Middle Ages to the modern era. Through the Church leads to the rare in southern Germany ossuary with the still perfectly preserved lead Bacher Dance of Death from 1723, which, inter alia, Basler Totentanz has served as a model.

In the cemetery there is the created partly in cast stone octagonal columbarium of goods business family. In it is buried among other things, Horst goods man.
