Gutworm

Session Members ( Live)

Gutworm was a Death-/Thrash-Metal-Band from Wellingborough in Great Britain.

Band History

The tape was founded in 1999. The line-up lasted until 2005 Neil Hudson ( vocals), Lee Mason (guitar), brothers Carl and Noel Davis ( E-Bass/Gitarre ) and Wayne Minney (drums). They made their home in Northamptonshire with live performances, a good name, then their EP Torn from Me, record studios in Nottingham, led by Dave Chang in 2000 in the studios of the backstage. The EP was highly praised by the UK Metal Hammer and so got a record deal with SPV.

In 2001, she then went to Germany to record 12 songs at the Karo Studios, which, however, still needed a further three years to come to market because there were problems with their label SPV and changed Gutworm for Label Anti Culture Records, on which then in 2004 their debut album ruin the Memory appeared. Producer was Esoteric vocalist Greg Chandler. In the same year, the band played the Bloodstock Open Air. Their performance was highly praised by Kerrang. A music video for What You Are was aired on Scuzz and MTV2.

Then the band went on tour as the opening act of Byzantine. 2005 first rose from Carl Davis, who was replaced for two years by Liam Durrant (Free Base ( band ) ), until finally found a new bassist Glen Pywell. Shortly thereafter rose from both guitarists. Live supports the band shortly Jamie Hunt (ex Biomechanical ). Mike Ranzetta eventually took over the guitar. In 2007, the album Disfigured Narcissus was published. The band existed after three more years before they broke up in 2010.

Music style

Gutworm play fast to slow modern Death Metal / Thrash Metal in the vein of Pantera, Strapping Young Lad and Meshuggah with some blast beat passages and hardcore punk influences. The lyrics deal with more emotional and personal issues.
