Guy Medal

The Guy Medal ( original English name Guy Medal ) is a learned society, awarded by the British Royal Statistical Society award for individuals who have distinguished themselves in the field of statistics.

The award is named after the British physician and statistician William Guy ( 1810-1885 ). There are the Gold, Silver and Bronze, with the former being awarded every three years, the other two a year. The award criteria of the three categories are as follows:

  • Gold is only awarded to those who paid through their innovative work a special merit for the theory or application of statistics. The golden honor is awarded to any persons who are not members of the society.
  • Silver is awarded for special contributions of members in the company newspaper or at a convention.
  • Bronze is awarded as well as the silver, but with the age limit below 35 years.
