Gwangju Metro

The subway Gwangju is located in the southeast of the Metro South Korea Gwangju. The plant was opened in 2004, which became the fifth Gwangju city in South Korea with a metro system.

With the construction of Line 1 began in 1996. The operation on the comprehensive 14 stations leg Nokdong to Sangmu, which is 11.9 km long, was admitted on 28 April 2004. The line currently includes 20 stations and runs over the airport and the railway station Seongjeong -ri until after Pyeongdong. The subways are a maximum of 4 railcar long at the time.

A second line is to run from 2008 to the northeast from the south and the existing line at Geumnamno 4 -ga Station crossing ( the platform for the new line already exists ). Furthermore, planned three other Metro lines whose construction let alone opening date is uncertain.

The subway is similar structurally and organizationally the subway in Seoul.
