Gwladys Épangue

Gwladys Patience Épangue ( born August 15, 1983 in Clichy ) is a French Taekwondoin.

They began their sport at the age of eleven years and started for the club La Courneuve Taekwondo Club. Your first international success came Épangue at the 2000 European Championships in Patras, where they reached the final to 55 kg in weight class and won silver. At the European Championships in 2002 in Samsun and 2004 in Lillehammer she won the title each. Épangue qualified for the Olympic Games in Athens, retired from there but in their opening fight. At the European Championships in Riga, she won her third European title at the World Championships in Madrid, she won her first World Cup silver medal. She reached the semi-finals and lost there against Hwang Kyung- seon, but won the small final against Tina Morgan the bronze medal. At the World Championships 2009 in Copenhagen and in their new weight class up to 73 kg, 2011 in Gyeongju she became World Champion in each case. The title win in 2009 was the first World Cup gold medal of the French Taekwondo.

At the international qualifying tournament in July 2011 in Baku Épangue could qualify in the weight category 67 kg for her third Olympic Games in London.
