Gwynfor Evans

Richard Gwynfor Evans ( born September 1, 1912 in Barry, † 21 April 2005) was a Welsh politician and the first deputy of the Plaid Cymru in the House of Commons ( 1966-1970 and 1974-1979 ).

Evans studied law at Aberystwyth University and at St John 's College, Oxford. He joined as a student of Plaid Cymru, in 1945 he became chairman of the party. In this office he remained until 1981.
