Gyenesdiás

Gyenesdiás [ ɟɛnɛʃdia ː ʃ ] is located on Lake Balaton and the immediate neighboring town of Keszthely in Hungary. The name was created in 1840 by merging the cities and Gyenes Diás.

Location

North of the site is bounded by the hills of the Keszthely Mountains. There are many hiking trails. To the west and east cycling routes lead to different destinations: around Lake Balaton, a nature reserve Kis -Balaton or Bad Hévíz.

Tourism

The place has increasingly developed into a holiday resort at Lake Balaton and is interesting for continuous and spa guests due to its proximity to Keszthely, Zalakaros and the spa town of Hévíz. Thus He lives in large part on tourism.

Two beaches are operated, of which the larger ( in Diás, east side ) many sports facilities and entertainment offers ( entertainment, beach radio, board games in garden size). The twin towns of Gyenesdiás are for some years the Styrian municipality Gaal and Csíkszenttamás Transylvania / Romania.
