Gymnastics at the 2008 Summer Olympics
The XXIX. 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing 14 competitions were held in gymnastics, in the all around, the team on vault and on the ground fought both the ladies and the gentlemen for the medals. Qualification criteria
For the team competition, qualified for both the ladies and in the men's 12 best teams in the 2007 World Championships in Stuttgart. Each of the 12 qualified teams could send six starters, so that 72 of the 98 seats were allocated. The NOCs of the 13 -15 ranked teams in the world championships ever were allowed to send two starters to Beijing, which one of the teams in the stands 16-18 each. A further six places went to the NOCs, whose participants are the best performers in the all around, except for the 18 above NOCs.
