György Bakos

György Bakos ( born July 6, 1960 in Zalaegerszeg ) is a former Hungarian hurdler, who specializes in the 110-meter distance.

The European Athletics Championships 1982 in Athens, he reached the semifinals, and at the World Athletics Championships 1983 in Helsinki he finished sixth. In 1984 he won silver over 60 meters hurdles at the Indoor Athletics Championships in Gothenburg and gold at the competitions of friendship. The following year he won gold over 60 meters hurdles at the European Indoor Championships in Piraeus and silver at the Universiade.

In 1987 he retired from the World Championships in Rome in the semifinals. At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 he reached the quarter-finals and finished second in the 4 x 100 meters relay with the Hungarian team to eighth place.

From 1980 to 1991 he was twelve times in a row Hungarian champion in the 110m hurdles. In the hall he won seven times the national title over 60 m hurdles ( 1980-1982, 1985, 1987, 1989, 1990 ).
