György Cserhalmi

György Cserhalmi [ ɟørɟ ʧɛrhɒlmi ] ( born February 17, 1948 in Budapest) is a Hungarian film and theater actor.

Cserhalmi graduated in 1971, the Hungarian drama and film school in Budapest and then worked at theaters in Debrecen and Veszprém. At the same time the athletic heroes and macho actor began ( type much like that of Kirk Douglas comparable) an intense film career among the leading Hungarian film directors of the 1970s and 1980s, such as Miklós Jancsó or István Szabó. Cserhalmi has so far appeared in over 200 films, usually in lead roles ( he was also the Hans Miklas in Szabó's Mephisto and the boss in the underground Thriller control ). Cserhalmi has also appeared in numerous classic roles on theater stages. He received the 1982 Béla Balázs Prize and in 1990 the Kossuth Prize.
