György Matolcsy

György Matolcsy ( born July 18, 1955 in Budapest) is a Hungarian politician of the Fidesz - Hungarian Civic Union.

Life

Matolcsy studied economics at the Corvinus University of Budapest. From 1 January 2000 to May 27, 2002 Matolcsy was the successor of Attila Chikán Minister of Economic Affairs in the Cabinet of Hungary Orbán I. He was followed in office as Minister of Economics in 2002 István Csillag. Matolcsy was from May 2010 back economic minister of Hungary in the Cabinet Orbán II Since April 2013 he is governor of the Hungarian Central Bank. As an economist, he wrote several books.
