György Orbán
György Orbán ( born July 12, 1947 in Târgu Mureş, Romania ) is a Hungarian composer born in Transylvania.
Life
Orbán studied and later taught and the Academy of Music Gheorghe Dima in Cluj- Napoca. In 1979 he emigrated from Romania to Hungary. Since 1982 he has been professor of composition at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. His choral compositions mix traditional liturgical Renaissance and Baroque counterpoint with elements of jazz.
