Győrújbarát
Győrújbarát is a municipality with 5998 inhabitants in the Győr- Moson -Sopron in the small area of Győr in Hungary. The municipality was created in 1969 through a merger of four settlements: Kisbarátfalu (Eng. small frying village), Kisbaráthegy (Eng. small frying mountain ), Nagybarátfalu (English Roasts village) and Nagybaráthegy (English Roasts mountain).
Geography
The municipality is located in north-western Hungary Győrújbarát in the Little Hungarian Plain 8 km south of Győr and 15 kilometers south of the Danube which forms the border with Slovakia.
History
Excavations have been in the area of Győrújbarát remains from the Hallstatt period, as well as tombs from the Roman and the Avar. found. 1211, the village was first mentioned in documents as Barath. In 1549 he was destroyed by the Turks. In the 18th century also Slovaks and German settled in the four locations.
