Gyrd Løfqvist

Oluf Gyrd Löfqvist or Gyrd Lofqvist ( born June 2, 1921 in Copenhagen, † 1 May 2012 ) was a Danish actor.

Biography

Löfqvist came from a Norwegian-Swedish family who lived in Denmark. His mother was a Norwegian, which he was awarded the Norwegian name Oluf Gyrd and from his father he had the Swedish surname Löfquist.

He graduated from 1942 to 1944 an acting training at the Det Kongelige Teaters elevskole ( Acting School of the Royal Theatre ) in Copenhagen. His debut as an actor he had in 1944 at Det Kongelige Teater. Subsequently he was engaged from 1944 to 1946 at Det Ny Teater. After that, he held various engagements at Frederiksberg Teater, Allé - scenes, Aarhus Teater, Svalegangen and on Gladsaxe Teater.

In the 1970s and in the 1980s he worked mainly on Folketeatret, where he participated in many roles at a number of different performances. In the film, he had already in 1945 in En ny dag gryer his first appearance since the Danish and worked in many films and later in several television series with.

After his retirement, he was still active as an actor in both theater and in film until 2006.
