Features
Macroscopic characteristics
The hat of the alder Grüblings has a yellowish to ocher- brown color and 3-12 cm wide. The matte surface is finely tomentose and usually dry, but can be slightly greasy at high humidity. Often it has small dimple depressions on the hat surface. The brim is young significantly curled, at the age he turns on and then has a sharp edge. On the bottom there is the very thin, golden -yellow tube cushion which runs down a good deal on a stick. It turns increasingly olivaceous with age. At pressure points, it turns blue first, but then turns into a brown. Also on the hat surface the meat to bruising brownish color. The tube mouths are young barely visible, but zoom in age and leave their oblong- shaped structure are visible. The tubes are graduated, so not all the same length. The spore powder is ocher brown. The stem is colored like the hat, tans on pressure points and is tapered at the base. He has a längsfaseriges pattern and is usually curved and short. The flesh is pale yellowish in the hat, but is brownish to stick out. After gating it to brownish discolored bluish, as is also the case on the hat. It sometimes has a sour, astringent taste. The smell is insignificant.
Microscopic characteristics
The spores are elliptical in shape, smooth surface and measure 5-7 × 4-5 micrometers.
Ecology
As the name suggests, the fungus grows near alders. With this it forms a mycorrhizal a community. Because alders moist, prefer swampy locations, even the Erlengrübling can be found in such areas. The fruiting bodies appear from August to October, sometimes in masses.
Dissemination
The alder Grübling is Europe's most important members of the genus Gyrodon. It's pretty rare, but spread throughout the world, including in America and Asia.
Importance
The alder Grübling is edible. However, due to its rarity and its low feed value he should be spared.
